Originally from Michigan, she moved to Maryland to apprentice with the former artist-in-residence at the Washington National Cathedral. Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Potomac, Maryland commissioned Sarah to create two larger-than-life-sized sculptures cut from Carrara marble. Hello! For 43 years, I have created bronze sculptures both for myself, and on commission for discerning clients. As I create a sculpture in bronze, I try to create a work that can stand beside the great pantheon of artworks that have been created over the ages. I cast my first bronze sculpture in 1979, when I was 18. Since then, I have completed hundreds of bronze sculptures in all sizes, around the world. One of my most recent life sized portrait sculptures was shipped to Kenya. One of my pieces was unveiled by President H. W. Bush in the Rose Garden of the White House in 1989.
I am a classically trained realist sculptor with an undergraduate degree in Fashion Design and a master's degree in Sculpture from the Florence Academy of Art, Italy. My primary focus ranges from portraiture to figurative to animals of varying sizes from quarter scale to life size and beyond. My work has attracted public and private commissions, and has received recognition and honours from National and International organizations. I invite you to have a look at my website and be in touch.
