As an artist I'm primarily self-taught. I had one oil portrait painting class in art school — everything else was focused on graphic design for print. After 20 years freelancing graphic design and web design, I moved away from the keyboard and returned to my first love — fine art. I spent a few years oil painting, was accepted into the International Guild of Realism in 2017, and have had my work included in several of their juried exhibitions. I discovered the joys of colored pencil in early 2019. Combining my new favorite medium with my love of realism and even greater love of dogs has been amazing. Born in 1974, Mariah Kaminsky grew up with a large Midwestern family in Northern Indiana. After graduating from Ball State University in 1997, working in Theatre Arts for a few years, and then marrying in 2001, Mariah & her husband (Jason) packed up and moved to the small mountain town of Durango, CO. Inspired by the beauty of her new home, Mariah found herself drawn back to her roots as a fine artist and returned to the study of portrait painting. Hello! My name is Susan Holloway and I’ve always enjoyed drawing or painting anything with a face or otherwise since I was a child. I have been painting commissioned portraits for 20 years. I attended art school at the University of Georgia. I began painting portraits of my own children and then my business bloomed via word of mouth and customer recommendations. I try to capture the light and the personality of each of my subjects in oil or acrylic. Artist Cindy Coleman has lived in Durango since 2006. An illustration graduate of Ringling College of Art & Design, Cindy has worked in various media, including acrylics, oils, colored pencils, watercolors, and now – soft pastels. She took an art hiatus after a bout with lyme disease in 2016, and after a few years (and a return of energy) she decided to play around in pastels. Cindy won a scholarship in the fall of 2020 for an artist residency at Willowtail Springs Nature Preserve & Education Center, where she painted 20 paintings in one week – the most paintings that she’d done in years. Her residency sparked a flurry of creativity and she hasn’t stopped painting since. Cindy’s landscapes are of places she’s been in the Four Corners region, camping, hiking, and even photographs she’s taken out of the car window. Alice Lipping is an experienced artist based in the United States whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as virtually in the United Kingdom. Having always been drawn to and inspired by decaying, worn-out spaces, and surfaces, she also cites the urban environment of New York City as inspiring her distinctive compositions. I was born and raised in Miami, Oklahoma. It’s a small town in the Midwest and like most other kids I wasn’t interested in art growing up. I wasn’t someone who doodled in the notebooks or colored in their spare time. I didn’t know Rembrandt was anything other than a toothpaste. This continued from my childhood all the way into my thirties. Sure, I took art class in high school, but I was a poor student in every class. Art never had a chance with me. I wish it had. It wasn’t until my partner suggest painting one night as a date night activity that something within me sparked. And it has roared since. Something about painting that tree. I absorbed art after that. I quickly became obsessed, like so many others, with the impressionists. I feel in love with the way they drew emotion out of the simple everyday scenes of life. Even staring at a simple fruit, they painted you can feel what you imagine they felt when they painted it. That was what I wanted. It's what I still want and chase today. I paint still life, portraits, and landscapes in the impressionist style and try to evoke the emotions out of the ordinary every day.
My name is Qi Debrah, I am a Portrait Artist, Fine Artist, and Children's Book Illustrator. I have been doing art for over the past 30 years. I grew up in an artistic family and learned art since I was 7. I went to professional art schools in my youth. Now, I have been living in the U.S for 25 years. I had studied Illustration major in New York. I am also teaching Illustration at the Fashion Institute of Technology which I was graduated from. I basically work in acrylics, as the drying time is faster, but if the need be (for getting a certain effect) I use oils. In that case I block in the colors with acrylics and complete the artwork with oils. All my artworks have the finest of details in them, as this is what I enjoy doing the most. Putting in the finer details give me a feeling of satisfaction and makes the artwork look complete. I am in the habit of keeping my final 2 days of creating an artwork, just for checking that I have created all the required and relevant details correctly. In short, I proofread my artwork, before putting on a double layer of gloss varnish to complete the process.

Originally from Quebec City, Canada, I live now in Upstate NY, USA. Watercolor has been my medium for the last several years. I have been focusing my skills on landscapes and portraits. I’ve been painting as long as I can remember, since the early childhood. When I was 16, I successfully graduated from a local art school after 5 years of learning there. Then I started to practice by myself. In my work, the most important thing for me is to convey an emotion or impression that is captured on photo. It is also important to make an image realistic and highly detailed. My favourite art mediums are watercolour, digital painting and pencil.
Professionally trained fine artist with a Bachelors in Studio Art and a minor in Painting. I have a wide range of skills, from realistic portrait painting, art nouveau ornamental backgrounds, pet portraits, floral still life’s, and abstracted art. Armando Nieto is a Venezuelan born emerging artist based in Savannah, Georgia. He is a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design. His work focuses on concept art for environment, landscape, portraiture, and animated illustrations. Armando has vast experience using traditional techniques such as graphite, markers, watercolor, acrylics, and oil paints. He is also very experienced with digital tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Procreate. Part of Armando’s work has been inspired by revolutionary artist Carlos Cruz-Diez (whose work was focused on kinetic and optical art). He also finds his inspiration from natural sceneries and landscapes (that are found in his home country Venezuela and the US). Armando is capable of critical thinking, and he is able to expand his knowledge about art concepts and to understand what can work for specific themes and situations in an undergoing art project.
