“Love” is a black-and-white oil portrait on paper capturing a tender moment between a man and his beloved Pomeranian. The close composition focuses on the gentle kiss, the dog’s trusting expression, and the deep affection they share.

The commission story

This commissioned portrait was created from the client’s photograph to preserve an intimate and natural expression of love between the man and his dog. Using the dry brush technique, I carefully rendered the dog’s expressive eyes and soft coat, as well as the gentle closeness of the embrace.

The outcome

The finished portrait transforms a deeply personal moment into a lasting work of art celebrating the bond between a person and his dog. “Love” received 5th Place in the Realism – Human category at the 2021 American Art Awards, judged by representatives of 25 leading galleries and museums in the United States.
