How do I join MadeMay as an artisan?

Joining MadeMay as an artisan starts with creating a complete, compelling profile. Your profile is your application.

Step 1: Create your account

Sign up with your email, Google, or Apple account. Select "I'm an artisan" during registration.

Step 2: Build your profile

This is the most important step. Fill out every field completely:

Identity: Display name, headline (120 characters, make it count), profile photo, cover photo.

Your story: Why you create, what inspires you, your creative journey, years of experience, education or training, awards. This is where buyers connect with the master behind the masterpiece.

Craft details: Primary category, mediums and materials, styles, starting price, typical timeline, shipping scope.

Portfolio: Upload 6 to 12 high-quality images of your best work. These should look professional. Think of how Airbnb requires quality photos from hosts. Your portfolio photos are the single most important factor in getting approved and attracting buyers.

Process steps: Define how you work, step by step. Buyers want to understand what the journey looks like before they commit.

Pricing: Set your rates for each variable in your category. Enter the net amount you want to receive and the system shows the listed price buyers will see.

Step 3: Submit for review

Once your profile is complete, submit it for review. Our curation team evaluates your portfolio quality, experience, and profile completeness. Reviews take 3 to 5 business days.

Step 4: Approval and activation

If approved, you pay the one-time $85 activation fee, connect your Stripe account for payouts, and your profile goes live. If changes are needed, we will tell you exactly what to improve.

Tips for getting approved

Use professional-quality photos with clean backgrounds and good lighting. Write a compelling bio that tells your story. Define clear process steps. Complete every field. Incomplete profiles are the most common reason for delays.
