What is the Marketplace Plan vs Storefront Plan?
MadeMay offers two pricing plans for artisans. Choose the one that fits how you plan to use the platform.
Marketplace Plan
Cost: 15% commission on each project. No monthly fee.
Best for: Artisans who want MadeMay to bring them new customers. You pay nothing until you earn. The 15% covers being listed on the marketplace, appearing in buyer search results, and access to all platform features.
How it works: When a buyer pays $1,000 for your project, MadeMay takes 15% ($150) plus Stripe processing (2.9% + $0.30). You receive approximately $820.
Storefront Plan
Cost: 2% commission plus $95 per month. Requires a 12-month commitment.
Best for: Artisans who bring their own clients to MadeMay and want to use the platform as their booking and project management system. If you already have a client base and are directing them to MadeMay, the lower commission saves you money.
How it works: When a buyer pays $1,000 for your project, MadeMay takes 2% ($20) plus Stripe processing. You receive approximately $950. The $95 monthly fee is billed separately.
Which should I choose?
If you are new to MadeMay and want the platform to help you find buyers, start with the Marketplace Plan. You only pay when you earn.
If you already have steady clients and plan to send them through MadeMay for project management and payment processing, the Storefront Plan saves money once you are doing roughly $700 or more per month in projects.
Can I switch plans?
You can upgrade from Marketplace to Storefront at any time. Switching from Storefront to Marketplace requires completing the 12-month commitment first.
Important note on Stripe fees
Both plans are subject to Stripe's processing fee of 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction. This is a third-party fee that MadeMay does not control or profit from.
