How does MadeMay work?

MadeMay works in four steps: share your vision, choose your creator, watch it come to life, and receive your piece.

Step 1: Share your vision

Select a category (like Painting or Furniture) and answer a few questions about what you want. For a painting, this might include the medium, size, subject, and complexity. The system uses your answers to match you with artisans and generate estimated pricing.

Step 2: Choose your creator

You will see a list of artisans who match your needs, each with an estimated price. Browse their portfolios, read their story, see their process steps, and compare pricing side by side.

Step 3: Watch it come to life

The artisan follows their defined milestones. At each stage, they share photos and notes. You review, approve, or request changes. Your payment is held in escrow and released as milestones are approved.

Step 4: Receive your piece

When the artisan completes the final piece, you approve the delivery. The remaining payment is released. A Project Story page is automatically created documenting the entire journey.

Throughout the process

All communication happens on MadeMay in a dedicated project message thread. You can share reference images, provide feedback, and ask questions. Everything is documented and saved.
