Understanding pricing
Every artisan on MadeMay sets their own pricing. Here is how to understand what to expect.
Starting prices
Each artisan profile displays a starting price. This is the minimum price for the simplest version of their work. Your actual price will depend on the size, complexity, materials, and timeline of your specific project.
What affects the price?
- Size and scale -- Larger pieces generally cost more.
- Materials -- Premium or rare materials add to the cost.
- Complexity -- Intricate designs or detailed work takes more time.
- Timeline -- Rush orders may cost more than projects with flexible deadlines.
Discussing pricing with artisans
When you send an inquiry, include your budget range. The artisan can then let you know what is achievable within that range or suggest alternatives. Pricing discussions happen directly between you and the artisan through on-platform messaging.
How payments work
Artists on MadeMay handle payments directly with their clients using their preferred method. MadeMay does not process or facilitate payments. Once you and the artisan agree on scope and price, you arrange payment between yourselves.
